The Sony BVM-D20F1U is optimized for the DTV world. The monitor supports 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i inputs; it accepts signals with a frequency range of 15.625 kHz to 45 kHz; and features SMPTE-C standard phosphors in the CRT with 900 TV lines of resolution. Four new option slots with new input decoder and expansion boards are available for a variety of input configurations. Other features include a built-in auto set-up system for chroma, phase, and white balance; a Digital Uniformity Adjustment menu for adjustment of color and brightness variance at the edges of the screen; and ITU 709 Matrix interchangeability.

•	High Resolution for High Definition Video The monitor can display 900 lines horizontal resolution in 4:3 mode and 700 lines in widescreen mode. As with all Sony professional CRT displays, this model uses the broadcast industry standard SMPTE-C phosphors. Manual setting of color is also possible.
•	Wide-screen Display Feature The monitor will display 16:9 aspect as well as 4:3 conventional footage without pulling or stretching the image. An included 16:9 mask allows the viewer to see the wide-screen image without seeing blank vertical lines top and bottom of the screen.
•	Expansion Slots for Flexibility The BVM-D20F1U can be adapted for any high definition or standard definition video signal. It comes standard with analog component, 3-BNC connectors, input and output. The monitor has 4 slots for expansion boards. The HD-SDI expansion board will decode any current HD format signal including 1080i/24 frame video. Standard Definition SDI, additional Y/ R-Y/B-Y Component, RGB, Y/C and Composite Video are all possible additions.
•	The Optional Controllers Optional controllers can tweak critical monitor parameters so the display has the perfect picture output. With the BKM-10R, a control box that can be mounted beneath the monitor or rack mounted, a memory card can memorize video parameter settings and transfer the data to any like-equipped unit. The BKM-11R is a small, hand-held unit with much the same functionality of the larger unit, but it leaves out the memory card slot. Multiple monitors would have to be calibrated individually.
